It should sit well on your shoulders, with the cuffs hitting your hand just above the wrist, and the hem of the trousers falling to the correct spot. Make sure your accessories match. In particular, take a look at your shoes. Unless you're confident about your abilities as a stylist, stick to black shoes with a black suit; ideally, check that your belt matches, too.
