Replace a zipper
Is your zipper faulty and ready to be replaced? Become a professional at home. All you need is a pair of scissors, pins, a new zipper, and a sewing machine.
1. Remove the old zipper by carefully cutting off the stitches from the inside
2. Open the new zipper and place each side in between the fabric layers. Make sure the zipper fronts are facing the right way.
3. Add some pins to secure the position of the new zipper. You can remove them one by one while sewing.
4. Place the edge of the fabric under the sewing machine. Hold the fabric straight to ensure an even seam while sewing. At the beginning and end of the seam, you can set your sewing machine to reverse mode for a few centimeters to secure the seam.
All done!
