Sewing up a hole in your denim
Did you tear your favorite denim piece? There’s a quicker fix than going to a tailor and no need for a new pair just yet – all you need is thread, scissors, and a sewing machine.
1. Take your denim piece and cut the frayed thread around the hole off.
2. Choose a thread in the color of the fabric for the sewing machine.
3. Set the sewing machine on the zigzag stitch option. Adjust the setting based on the thickness of the fabric. Keep in mind the thicker the fabric, the higher the number should be.
4. Slide the cuff around the arm of the sewing machine so you don’t sew it shut.
5. Pull the hole closed on your denim and sew over it to patch it up. Repeat to make the seam more durable.
6. Cut off the remaining thread.
