What is the ABOUT YOU Marketplace?

Our Marketplace Model gives our partners the opportunity to list their products independently via the ABOUT YOU platform and sell them directly to the end customer. They retain full control over their pricing and are responsible for the entire shipping process - from packaging to return management. Thanks to the independent assortment management, our partners can react quickly to trends while benefiting from ABOUT YOU’s geographical reach and brand awareness.

In the ABOUT YOU Marketplace, there are two fulfilment models:

Fulfilment by the Seller

You are in charge of warehousing, delivery & returns.

Fulfillment by ABOUT YOU

Leverage ABOUT YOU's warehousing network and profit from our fulfillment conditions.*

Which markets can I sell in?

Accepted Answer

Currently, 10 markets are live under the Fulfillment by Merchant model: Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland.

Under the Fulfillment by ABOUT YOU model, 11 markets are live: Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Luxembourg.

What are the integration options?

There are many ways you can integrate your store with the Seller Center. Our Integration options include: manual product upload, bulk import with Excel, connecting your Shopify store, or using one of our partnering integrators, including Tradebyte, Plentymarkets, and many more.

Question 5

What is the difference between Fulfilment by Merchant and Fulfilment by ABOUT YOU models?

Accepted Answer

The models’ main difference is who fullfils the order. In the case of Fulfillment by Merchant, the merchant is fully responsible for storage, packing and delivery to the end customer. While in the Fulfillment by ABOUT YOU model, the merchant has to send the stock to the ABOUT YOU warehouse, from where we take care of the storage, packing and the delivery as well as returns.

As well as that, there are different requirements for each model. They are as follows:

Fulfillment by Merchant	Fulfillment by ABOUT YOU
You must have a legal entity and a warehouse/return facility inside the European Union.	You must have a legal entity inside the European Union.
You must use a last-mile carrier from the approved list. (Partner University)	VAT IDs for our warehousing counties (Germany, Slovakia, Poland and Czech Republic) are mandatory.
LUCID registration is required for sales in Germany.	LUCID registration is required for sales in Germany.
An adhesive return label is mandatory for every shipment.

Question 6

What are the return policies?

Accepted Answer

The return process is designed to be simple for the customer and is strictly regulated by the marketplace's terms and conditions. The customer has 30 days to initiate a return. To return the items, they use the self-adhesive return label, which the merchant has to include in every parcel.

The Merchant bears the full cost of the return shipment. The specific cost depends on the rates you have negotiated directly with the Last Mile Carrier.

What are the commission fees?

The commission fees are calculated as a variable percentage of the gross Retail Price set by the Merchant. The resulting fee is a net value subject to applicable VAT (or reverse charge).

The specific percentage rate is determined by the product category and the price bracket. The fee ranges from 4% to 24%. In the case of Fulfilment by ABOUT YOU, additional fees for the fulfilment apply.
